The story of how my husband and I found our Fort Walton property is one that truly proves everything happens at the right time! We had talked for years about possible properties and finding just the right space. We wanted to have a place for our friends and family to make great beach memories. But also wanted to be able to rent the space for short term stays when we were not able to be in the area!
In our minds, we thought we were looking for a large space, as we imagined that might offer better rental interest. So, during a holiday trip to Fort Walton, Christmas 2024 we decided to start looking!
We visited Zillow and spent the first 2 days of our trip looking at different properties and trying to better understand the areas of Fort Walton Beach.
On day 3, we were looking in windows of a cute ranch home in Fort Walton, when we hear someone say "Hey, I can show you the inside of that house if you want, I am a realtor.!" When we looked toward the voice, we saw a woman riding the cutest Vespa. Within minutes we were able to see the inside of the house and had a chance to talk about our goals with Lori Ann.
We realized that a larger condo may not be the best fit and also all we would need to consider when buying property in Florida (and there are unique aspects of this process). The next day Lori Ann spent the entire day with us showing us different spaces. And by 6 pm that evening we had made a decision to try and purchase 2 small condos located within 2 blocks of one another!
Lori Ann helped us every step of the way. She was patient, supportive and realized that we both were working full time jobs and would need to talk in the evenings and weekends to get through the process. She helped us to better understand the aspects of Airbnb and shared her knowledge around Inspections and Hurricane rating details of our purchase process.
On February 23rd, 2024, we closed on two Fort Walton Beach condos that we love, and we love to share with our guests. Our only complaint is we should have done this sooner.
